This format revives the original spirit of Magic while promoting a healthy, evolving play environment.
Are you overwhelmed by the rapid release pace? Dislike seeing other franchises inserted into the game you love? You might be in the right place.
The rules are straightforward. This format follows the exact rulings and bans of official Legacy, with one simple exception: no Universes Beyond and Secret Lair series (original card reprints are OK!).
We strive to maintain the classic Magic experience, supported by new (Universe Within) series releases.
This approach should maintain a more reasonable release pace and ensure that no unique UB/SL mechanic cards are ever added.
We understand the rationale behind including those cards from WotC, and that's fine! However, we believe Legacy was never intended for "new players", and if someone starts playing Magic for the first time, Legacy is not where they will go immediately. Therefore, banning UB/SL unique cards feels like a healthy way of ensuring satisfaction for everyone (old and new players).
